One Day Before The Election

Hola mi amigas and amigos! (Hmm... who are my guy friends who read this blog anyway?)

I would ask you all to kindly appreciate this one last day of freedom. Who knows what can happen tomorrow during the election? Anything can happen.

Anyway, let's not worry about that right now. What we should be focusing on is the presentation I just did in English class! I wasn't nervous about presenting. My classroom is a very comfortable environment and I feel like most of the people are my friends or are friendly. And this is the first time in my history of group projects that I actually have reliable, friendly, and hard-working group members.

When our time came, I had to open us up, so I said, "Hi, I'm Nura, and these guys..." and I proceeded to motion to my group members. They all introduced themselves, and then I turned back to the class and said, "Our story was The Yellow Wallpaper, by Charlotte Perkins Stetson." And then I proceeded to talk about the author. I feel like I talked too fast, but it all happened so quickly and before I knew it, I was done reading my notecards and it was L's turn.

When B's turn came, he talked for such a long time that I was worrying we were going to go over time. And then suddenly, the phone on the front desk started making a sound. M hurried over and turned it off. B hurried and finished with what he was saying and then M went ahead to do his turn. He quickly turned off the phone and then he said to the class, "Don't pay attention to that, pay attention to me." Smhh he's so funny XD

I started really worrying when the teacher held up one finger to indicate we should hurry up and finish, and then M said, "Aaand the end!" And we all smiled gloriously at the audience and then went back to our seats.

There wasn't enough time for all the groups to present that day, so the rest are presenting on Wednesday. I can't wait :)

Geology was a little ... how shall I say ... dampening to my mood. First of all, MY, my Muslim girl friend did not come because she is sick. Second of all ... EVERYBODY scored horribly on the test we had last week. So everyone has to retake it by next Monday. :/ I got a 54. A student, R, asked if the teacher would keep our higher scores for the record. "Yes," said Prof. K, "I'll be keeping your highest scores, like the nice guy I am." We all laughed nervously and left the room. R was right behind me. "Man," he said. "That test was hard."

"Yeah," I agreed. "We should have like a study group or something."

We discussed the questions for a while, and then organized a time for the day we would study. Hopefully all goes well with this 2nd test attempt! Group studying, group effort, all kinds of things like that always work :)

I ended up staying until about 3:30pm ... Mama took me home. I submitted my essay online and then I surfed the web pointlessly until I realized my room was getting really dark and that I was also getting really sleepy. So I tuckered down and tried to sleep, even though I knew Maghrib was in half an hour. Well, whaddya know, I was awakened at 5:41. Actually, I'm not even sure if I was awakened. I don't think I actually slept. I think I may have a slight case of ADHD because I can never stay still lol. Which is why it's so hard for me to fall asleep at night.

I have a lot more to say but I can't say it now; it's late and I have to post this tonight. Goodnight!

Until next time! :)
