Pride and Brownies

Image
Thursday has been one of my favorite days since a very long time ago. It's always quiet and peaceful, and there's suspense in the air promising surprises for the future, be them occurring near or far away in time. Additionally, it precedes Friday, which is everyone's favorite day. Fun fact: I was born on a Thursday! Indeed, something fun is happening today. There's a party at Quran classs, inshaAllah! Woo-hoo!! I, like, totally deserve one, since I finished Surah Zukhruf. ;D Now I'm on Surah Shura which is like seven whole pages plus maybe one-eighth. I made brownies today. I stirred everything together by hand. Dat workout doe. It was so tiring and I'm surprised I managed it. I guess the workout was worth it ;) I finally finished my report, and I'm very proud of the end result. Here's the car I drew for the cover picture... McLaren P1. It took a long time since I was copying a photo and I can't copy very well. ;P PUT ALL YOUR PRIDE AWAY [...

Class, 'Mates, Friends and Cake

So busy this week! Classes are finishing up next week. My English classes had its last session on Monday. My composition of effort is close to blooming! I need to make a cover pic doe. Why did I feel like I had so much to -- oh, right. Let's begin. Monday, April 27, 2015 I had my last English session from 10am to 11am. After talking about our final presentations, we played a vocabulary game called Stump the Teacher! The way you play is, you find a vocabulary word you think your teacher won't know the meaning of, and when your turn comes in class, you say your word and the teacher is supposed to try her best at defining the given word. If she cannot define it, you've stumped her/you've won! My word was pyknic, which means "rounded or fat build or structure of physical state." None of my classmates could guess the word, and as my teacher could not guess it either, it was my first time ever stumping my teacher. (And classmates! :D Hehehe) I'll skip to...

Test The Limits

For some reason I posted 9 posts each for January and February unconsciously, and I realized it only when March came, so I decided to make 9 posts for each month. It went fine, but I realized in the middle of April that I didn't have a lot of time to get to nine posts, so I posted every day, and now I have nine already, but I feel the need to post. So I'm going to test the limits and break through. 'Cause so much has happened! Where did we leave off... Friday, April 24, 2015 Mommy stayed home 'cause there was no class. She made brown rice and beef and green bean soup. In Malay it's called pulut kacang hijau. Or kacang hijau. Kacang means beans and hijau means green. Pulut means glutinous. Anyway, yeah. Typical Jumuah, we went to the library and I got Bramblestar's Storm. Then we went to Aas's house for lunch. I exploded a soda bottle. Lol just kidding. I almost did. And it was a ginger ale bottle. I'm such a loser lol. Then at 6 I left for the halaq...

The Ban of Words

My opinion: Long nails are gross. I've discovered that the reason my nails don't exist is because I don't like the way there's extra space under my nail where things can collect. I've never had long nails, and I'll thank you for allowing me to keep it that way. I came to this blog because I wanted to write something that I can't write in my essay because I just have to use be and have verbs. Those verbs are prohibited in formal writing. Unfortunately, school offers only formal writing. And that is why I came here. To cool off a little. Okay, I just wrote my introduction. Here it is.... "Imagine a world where everyone looked alike. Everyone would share the same colored eyes, hair of the same length, and voices of the same sound. If everyone adhered to that type of life since the beginning of time, no one would understand the value of variety. Fortunately, the whole world provides variety, which Mark Twain portrays in his classic The Adventures of...

Cats and Books

In literature class we recently began reading Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer . Of course, it's a wonderfully humorous book and all that, but something near the end of chapter 2 made my eyes bug out. Here it is: "He had, besides the things before mentioned, twelve marbles, part of a jew's-harp, a piece of blue bottle-glass to look through, a spool cannon, a key that wouldn't unlock anything, a fragment of chalk, a glass stopper of a decanter, a tin soldier, a couple of tadpoles, six fire crackers, a kitten with only one eye, a brass doorknob..." What struck me was the kitten with only one eye. And them tadpoles though. But especially the kitten. POOR CREATURE!!! :( :( :( Also, in the paragraph after that, Mark Twain inserts his sass into the book, which bears an eerie resemblance to my own writing... "If he had been a great and wise philosopher, like the writer of this book, he would now have comprehended that Work consists of whatever a...

People Are Awesome

Yesterday I went to my blog and my brother H passed by. "Isn't my blog beautiful?" I asked him. "If your blog was about leaves, yeah," he replied. Lol bro ^-^ Don't get funny with me. Today should be Rajab 1st. I learned from Daddy yesterday that Mommy's lunar calendar is messed up. But not really. Mommy's calendar says that Ramadan begins June 18th. I looked up on Google yesterday when Ramadan is supposed to start, and Google told me Ramadan should start June 17th and end July 17th. So Mommy's calendar isn't that off. (Daddy's kind of a nitpicker.) And, yes, people are awesome. Two friends have each offered amazing ideas for stories I can write. One is a little creepy, and I won't go further than that because the plot is really good and I haven't thought of a better plot than this one. The other is about my friend under a variation of her name who experiences life in the most pessimistic way possible. (Lol just kidding...she ...

I Feel Grimy II

Did I ever mention why I was grimy? Oh, well, it all began on Friday... heck, it's almost May. April zoomed by like a bee and a butterfly. Anyway, I TRIED to make a chocolate walnut cake in daa morning and it failed 'cause I don't know how to fold very well. Anyway, after Jumuah I took Z to Aas's house for lunch and chillin'. Then at 6 I walked to the masjid and then Daddy took me home. I was tired and felt grimy cause it was hot in the house. And that is the story of Friday. Yesterday, I got up at 7 am, put on my amaze new tie-dye shirt over a black long-sleeve, and my most colorful skirt and hijab, which I regret 'cause we painted a shed and a house and although I tried my best to stay clean, I got dirty. Oh well, at least I didn't get any paint on my face or head. Just ... in places ;_; x_x. Hey, actually, it'd be better if I painted myself because I can wash things off myself. But clothes..... sigh. Anyway, there were four other guys, two of which ...

I Feel Grimy

'Cause I am grimy. Oh my God I'm supposed to write a poem for my friend. Oh my God I had such a day. Oh my God I'll have such another day tomorrow. Hey so I went to Jumuah with my favorite sister and favorite brother and then after the prayer I walked to my friend Aas's house to have lunch and help prepare some food for tomorrow's BBQ. Aas gave me my new tie-dye shirt which looks AMAZE!!! I told her it looks like a target so I can wear it at archery tomorrow. And I know I mentioned before that I wouldn't be able to attend archery, but Dad had to be awesome and tell me that the volunteering site is no more than 5 minutes' driving distance away from the masjid where my archery session is held. So inshaAllah he's gonna take me to archery! I think my dad is amazing! Aas put henna on my nails. (About 14 hours later) I wrote that last night. Now it's tomorrow. My day of service was ... paintful. We painted a shed and part of the house and I c...

And Suddenly... Boom

I mentioned in the last post about a Great Day of Service. Basically it's just volunteering. Oh my goodness. I just realized I had to bake something 'cause I'm going to chill at someone's house today. If people didn't know that I liked baking, they wouldn't expect any baked goods from me. So that just means I have to bake something or else they'll know I was just being lazy and came for the food. Which is what I don't do. I go places for peeps. If people didn't know that I liked to talk, they wouldn't expect a blog by me. Right? Maybe one day I'd be blabbing away to my friends and then they'd be like, "Dude, you talk a lot! You must surely have someplace to write it all down, right?" And I'm like, "Yeah, I have a book diary and an online blog." And they'd be like, "Bro, what's the point of having two places to write if you're going to talk about the same things?" And I'm gonna be like,...

I Know That I'm Weak

Sorry for the weird title. Anyway, the Islamic month of Rajab will start on Monday, which is also a certain someone's birthday. Today is the 27th of Jumaad'l Thaani. I told my brother Z that Ramadan would start in June, and he squealed in much excitement. Then I asked him, "Are you going to fast the whole month?" And he yelled, "Yeah!!" He seems much more excited about fasting then he did before, Alhamdulillah. I hope he fasts the whole month and tries his best! :D (Last year, he prayed some tarawih with us! :D) I have about three weeks left to finish my school. I should be done with Algebra by May 8th. Some of my last classes occur on the first week of May. By at least May 11th all my school should be finished. And that consists of vocabulary, math, American government, botany, geology, English, literature, and World History. By the way, I set these deadlines for myself. :P Most of my friends finish their school in June, but in my previous area of resid...

Once Upon a Time...

I was distracted. Sorry people, I've been catching up on homework (Yes, I actually have been trying, trust me) and plus life's been really boring. Either that or my memory doesn't exist. I wanted to make a blog post yesterday, but I was reading something, and then I realized I had a class, and then I made a cake because I wanted to, cooked chicken because I had to, and so much more. Additionally, Tuesday is one of my busiest days. I always bake on my busiest day, and it's not on purpose, k. Anyway, I've sped up in algebra II 'cause I finally decided to learn how to graph parabolas and hyperbolas and ellipses and tell centers and vertices and vertexes and use the distance formula and solve weird things like s = 2QH - K . Also, my English homework has been a breeze. I'm using Home2Teach for my English, and it's really helping me and I love love love it! I'm taking Report Writing for the fourth time, and this sessions' report is on sports cars/cars ...

Eggs-hausted

Hello. I'm tired for a random reason. Don't ask 'cause I don't know. Um, nothing happened today 'cept for the fact that I kinda forgot that I had botany class today because there was no literature class today 'cause their times clash. Oh my goodness. I'm not even typing the right things. Maybe I shouldn't blog right now. But there are so many things to blog about!!! Like right, maybe I should end this. Until next time! :)
