Seven Days Later...

YELLOW! I have to just tell all of y'all what has happened recently. Friday, 22 May 2015 At around 10:50am or so, Mommy came home to send us to Bayyinah campus because we were going to Six Flags with the girls. Some had finished their exams and some not, so everyone was waiting for everyone to finish their exams so they could leave. Everyone left before us 'cuz our driver wanted some lunch from the cafeteria. But eventually we were on our way! The first ride we lined up for was the Texas Giant. All of us had sabran jameelan (beautiful patience) (no, actually, I don't think we did, lol. One of the girls, MKUK, kept complainin' how long the line was, and I told Aas's brother Y to see how long the line was). BUT NVM THAT CUZ OVERALL WE WERE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL LADIES (and one little dude) WHO AREN'T PATIENT. :D So guess what happened soon after that? It started to rain heavily, and the ride's lights turned off. The ride was CLOSED. We stayed in line cuz w...

Blog Posts Don't Need Titles Sometimes

Hello hello hellooo!! How's y'all? Hopefully I didn't forget ANYTHING that happened to me this week. Ima start from two days ago. May 19, 2015 At Asr time in Quran class, we lined up to pray. My friend N and her sister Za came towards me to stand next to me. Za stood next to me on my left, and another friend named A was on my right, so what N did was grab her sister by the shoulders, take her out of the line, and stand next to me. "Hey!" said Za. Then Sis H came and took N by the shoulders and said, "You do to her like this, yeah?" And we all giggled nervously. Then Sis H took N with her to the end of the line, and Z, with a triumphant "Hah" to her sister, came and stood beside me again. May 20, 2015 I was reciting surah Shura to my teacher, and then, N and Z came. We practiced for a few minutes and then we had to pray Asr. This time we were quick and N got to stand beside me. After the prayer, we went back to our chairs, and I recited su...

Soft Pita Bread

I totally love how I never have planned titles for my blog posts. I had soft pita bread for breakfast. It got kinda hard after I left it alone for maybe five minutes. Seriously, that's the same amount of time it feels like when you leave green bananas alone to ripen. Feel me? Why did so much happen since Mudder's Day? Now I have to do many catching up. :( Good thing I wrote some happenings down in my diary and math book. Let me get 'em. [there's one use for a math book ;)] OOOOKAYH! Let us begin from May 13th... May 13, 2015 In Quran class, sometimes there are little rebels in the dude's side who like to call the athaan at the wrong time. And sometimes, they don't even KNOW how to say the athaan. Asr here at the masjid is at 6:00pm. The time to call the athaan for Asr is somewhere around 5:40pm. These boys call the athaan at like 5:20. On this very day, after calling the athaan at the wrong time, this boy said, "Bruh," into the mike. I breat...

Who Should I Give My Love To?

Image
The idea behind Mother's Day is really sweet. In fact, so sweet it should be celebrated every day. Why should you wait until one day of the year to tell your mother you love her? Why should you wait until June to tell your dad you love him? Why should you wait until the 14th of February to tell your friends and close ones that you love them? Here are some nice songs to set the theme. Since there is no need to celebrate Mother's Day, we do not celebrate Mother's Day. I didn't do much except at night when I felt like the laziest person on Earth, and Mum told me to get her lunch ready for the next day. I moaned dramatically and expected her to give in and say something like, "Okay, no, stop, it's okay, I'll do it later," but she didn't. But that was good anyway, because I had said earlier that I would do it for her. N, you're so smart. And lazy. She wanted naan bread with torn up chicken. I felt really tired and lazy right then, bu...

Let Me Go...Out To The World

I realized I focus more on my work in any place except my home. In Quran class, I tackle a whole page in an hour or less. Even with loud kids around me and getting called on by my teacher. I remember, even before we moved, I sometimes worked (meaning, did my math) in the backyard and got (more) tanned (hehehe). We didn't have a fancy table or back porch, but I liked being out in the sun, and it was peaceful. What helped me focus most? Ice creeeeaaamm (unless it was spring or winter... yeah... I wouldn't work in that type of weather...). I seriously think I'm secretly one of those types of animals who hibernates in the winter. When the air gets cold, I see no point in living until the world warms up again. Winter makes me sleepy. I don't focus at home because I know I can access everything at home. The internet, the food, the baking supplies, the laundry. Those things distract me. If I'm in a place where I KNOW I can't access those types of things, I'...

Mayday Mayday Where Have the Days Gone-ay

Why don't we just jump right in? Friday, May 1, 2015 Let's skip the Jumuah part, shall we? 6:00pm, we prayed Asr at the masjid, then headed to the auditorium/multipurpose hall for the opening of the Building Bridges Dawah Conference. Um, someone gave a talk, then they sent us upstairs for a youth talk with Sheikh Hamza Tzortzis and Nasser Karimian. We talked about spending time wisely and umm I actually don't remember and I should have taken notes wait I do have some notes BRB. SO. They said "Do one good deed apart from the obligatory ones that is just between you and Allah." They made three points but I failed to catch the second and third. -.- A preview of what I'd be like in onsite class. Like "WHAAT? HUH? WHO'S THIS? WHUT?" Anyway, they also said this really deep thing. "Don't think less of yourself, think of yourself less. -Nasser Karimian" After the youth talk, we went downstairs for another talk, probably by Hamza Tzortz...
