*Heart Eyes*
Y'all, so for my English class (the online one) I have to write a biography about the author of the book I chose to read. My chosen book being The Hobbit, I wrote a paragraph on J. R. R. Tolkien. His life was so interesting, y'all. Although he was orphaned at the age of 12, he studied languages under the care of the family's Catholic priest, Father Francis Morgan, and became a scholar at King Edward VI school. Interestingly enough, he failed to win a scholarship at Oxford solely because of a crush on a girl named Edith Bratt, who was three years older than him. Father Morgan found out about Tolkien's romance and forbade him from seeing Edith until he turned 21, when he would no longer be under Father Morgan's care. Though Tolkien agreed unwillingly, he faithfully stuck to his promise and did not see Edith again until he reached the age of 21, when he then asked her to marry him, from which the results turned out successful. They had three children; Christopher, Michael, and Priscilla. Edith passed away in 1971, and two years after, Tolkien joined her, and they were buried in the same grave.
I mean, that's freakin' goals, man. I'm referring to the love life. The story of Tolkien's writing career was somewhat saddening, for he wasn't satisfied with his fame. He wasn't to be paid for the publication of The Lord of the Rings until it moved into profit, and the publishers, Allen and Unwin, divided the book into six sections. Upon release of the book in 1954, it became a bestseller, and became an even better seller when it was published in America.
Saddening, isn't it? I wish Tolkien would have been happier with his success, but hey, I wouldn't like it either if someone, particularly my publisher, divided up my book and didn't offer me money. Don't worry, Tolkien, we all love you now. :)
Anyway, let me get back to the explanation of the title of this post. Actually, I never began to explain it in the first place, so let me begin to explain why the title of this post is *Heart Eyes.*
Long story short: I GOT A FREAKIN' CUTE HEART EYES EMOJI PILLOW!! *insert heart eyes emoji*
Long story long? Well, it's a memoir that I do not wish to elaborate on, but to say the least, my youth group held a Secret Eidi activity yesterday in party form at the residence of one of our sisters. I was given an emoji pillow, a black cherry scented candle, and a cute ring that looks like a crown. I have to say that for the remainder of the party, I hugged that emoji pillow to my chest like my life depended on it. I actually went to sleep hugging it as well. LOL ;P
To conclude, that's all I wanted to say for today, and I have some homework to do. So, like always...
...until next time!
